OLIVER HORTON

ABOUT

Oliver Horton is the Governance Committee Chair at Terra Elysium Foundation, established in October 2023 to promote environmental education, culture and heritage preservation, and community development. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of London and certification from the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School, Executive Education.

Oliver’s professional experience includes senior leadership roles with blue-chip organizations such as Lowe’s/RONA, Canadian Tire, Walmart Canada, Asda, and Mars Incorporated, gained through a 30-year career in the retail and consumer products industry, working in the U.K., U.S.A., and Canada. With a track record of delivery over his career, Oliver is dedicated to the strict enforcement of governance issues, constantly communicating the importance of good governance across the organization, laying the foundation for eliminating contentious issues.

Oliver is passionate about the importance of putting something back into local communities and is constantly looking for ways to help others. Oliver decided to pursue a long-held ambition and completed the Primary Care Paramedic Diploma and gained A.E.M.C.A certification which allowed him to serve as a Primary Care Paramedic with Toronto E.M.S until recently.

A long-time advocate of mentoring and utilizing his experience to help young entrepreneurs achieve their potential, Oliver is currently investing and advising several small businesses and their CEO’s in both Canada and the U.K, serving in an Advisory and non-executive director capacity.

Originally from Lancashire in the United Kingdom, Oliver has called Toronto home for the past 20 years after spells living in London, Nottingham, Somerset, and Southern California.

Joining the Terra Elysium Foundation is a continuation of Oliver’s journey dedicated to helping improve local communities, serving Toronto, helping people to achieve personal growth and unleash their potential to achieve for themselves and to contribute to environmental preservation of our natural resources.
