Youth & Community Engagement Chair
ABOUT
David Cardenas Ochoa is the Youth & Community Engagement Committee Chair at Terra Elysium Foundation and a GIS specialist with a Master’s in Spatial Analysis from Toronto Metropolitan University, with a focus on spatial equity, youth engagement, and community-based planning. He has worked across both public and private sectors, including roles with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and NorthCrest Developments, and volunteers with GISCorps.
David’s passion for service and outreach began in high school and continued through university, where he served as a student representative, supported new students through orientation programs, and helped organize open houses, high school demos, and postsecondary fairs to promote geographic education. These experiences, along with his commitment to equity-driven spatial work, reflect his drive to make knowledge and opportunity more accessible.
