Title: Board Members at Large
Organization: Terra Elysium Foundation
Location: Remote in Toronto, Ontario (with the opportunity for in-person events, but no requirement for in-person attendance)
Position Type: Volunteer (5-15 hours per month)

Summary:

Terra Elysium Foundation, based in Toronto, is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors. In this role, you will contribute to the strategic direction of our organization, helping to shape impactful community programs. We are particularly looking for individuals with experience in nonprofit governance, organizational development, financial systems, and leadership. If you are community-driven and have a love for youth justice, we want to hear from you!

At Terra Elysium Foundation, we are driven by a commitment to youth justice and the empowerment of underserved communities. By innovating through community-led initiatives, we aim to create sustainable, arts-based programming that not only addresses environmental sustainability but also uplifts the voices of those in historically marginalized neighbourhoods.

Our goal is to engage youth in shaping the future of their communities, creating lasting change, and supporting the social, environmental, and economic growth of Toronto’s most underserved areas.

What you will do:

As a board member, you will assist in decision-making processes, contribute to the development of financial systems, and guide the growth of innovative programs in partnership with the City of Toronto and other organizations. We welcome individuals with backgrounds in community leadership, financial systems, program planning, and those with a passion for environmental sustainability, youth empowerment, and community development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Board Meetings: Attend at least one to two Zoom meetings per month. Flexible scheduling.
• Commitment: Approximately 5-15 hours per month.
• Organizational Development: Contribute to the strategic growth of the organization.
• Financial Systems & Leadership: Provide oversight and strategic advice on financial systems and leadership initiatives.

This is a volunteer position with potential for future paid opportunities, contingent on funding and grant approvals. The term commitment is at least one year.
